- There were three or four poets around this district.
They were Phil Lennon, Patrick and Sylvester Reilly. Patrick Reilly composed "The Boys of Adamstown", "The Eucharistic Congress", "Ballyhogue and the Starlights" and many others. These are some that Phil Lennon composed:-"When the boss went to bed,
They said they'd buy bread
Says Mc Donald to Reilly "Im starving"
"Begor" says Mick "I'm afraid we will kick
Before we will reach to Kilgarvan"Another is as follows :-
------------
"Old Mary Rack and she lying on her back,
And she praying for her daughters at sea
But in spite of the storm
She called in Mag Gorman
And gave us all lashings of tea."-------------Ballyhogue and the Starlights
(Composed by :- P. Reilly.)Upon the deeds of gallant men I like for to amuse
