    While in my prison cell.
On the day of my execution.
He stood there by my side.
    Until the gallows scaffold,
    Erected I did spy.
    VII
At last the fatal bolt was drawn,
    His soul had passed away,
Above the [rampits] of the jail,
    A black flag did display.
To show the soul of Francy Hynes,
From all earthly clay did flee,
To live with God and Mary Pure,
    For all eternity.
    VIII
With pain I drop my feeble pen,
I have no more to say,
But for the soul of Francy Hynes.
    Let all good Christians pray.
    Unto his execution,
    He longingly did cry,
Some draw the bolt I'm innocent,
    And reconciled to die.
