   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   I live in the townland of Annyart, in the Parish of Muckno, and in the Barony of Cremorney.

   There are twelve families in the townland. There are about eighty-six people in Annyart. The name Hughes is the most common name in our district. The houses are all slated. There are two persons over seventy in Annyart. They do not know Irish, but they can tell stories in English. Their addresses are : -

   Annyart,
   Castleblayney,
   Co. Monaghan.

   Miss. Margaret Hughes,
   Annyart,

   Co. Monaghan.

   Houses were more numerous in former times than now. There are a number of houses now in ruins.

   The land is hilly, but it is good. There are a few small bogs there. There is wood growing there. There is wood in the Blackisland. It is a big Island. The river which flows through Annyart is the Frankford river. The big Muckno lake comes in to the Annyart shores at the Blackisland. It is said that there is a "goast" at the foot bridge.
