  1. One of the most famous mountains in Ireland is the mountain of ours - Benbulbin. It is 1,700 feet high and stands like a great giant overlooing the country and the sea. People here are very proud of it and boast of its having been the haunt of Finn and the Fianna in the days of Cormac MacAirt.
Here are some of the names of places on this mountain:-
    Suidhe Finn
    Leabaidh Dhíarmuid
    Sidhe
    Gleann Gailleach
    Crip-rock
    Míne
    Sgeach
    Polla-croigh
    Mhicín
    Poll Chiuin
    Taoi Garbh
    Taoi Bán
    Béul Lísl (?)
    The King's Mountain
    The Bush
    Andy's Rock
    The One River
    The Three Rivers
    The Cove Rock
    Cleireach

It was on the very top of Benbulbin Díarmuid was killed by the wild boar. It is said that Finn could have cured him with the water in the hollow of his hand but refused on account of how Díarmuid brought away Gráine from him years before that.
Behind the rock for miles stretches a great expanse of bog while on the bray and sides hundreds of sheep graze.
