  1. Once a witch lived in Maugherow. She had no means of living but selling fish which she got gratis from fishermen. One day, however they refused her and she being vexed said she would have revenge.
    Soon a young girl came into her house and she asked her to fill a tub with water. The girl did so and at the further request of the witch she put a copin or dish into it.
    Going into a room the old lady said some prayers. After this she told the girl to look at the tub who, to her surprise, saw that there were waves on it.
    After a while when the girl looked at the tub the copin was on its side.
    A third time the witch prayed and when the girl looked at the tub again the copin had over
