  1. There was a man there one time and he had only one girl and she was blind and the people called her blind Poreen. The little girl was gifted with a very good voice. One afternoon Poreen asked her father to take her down to the lake so that she might enjoy the cool breeze. The father took her down to the water's edge and said to her stay there my dear until I return. When her father left, Poreen sat on a dry Hillock and began to sing.
