  1. About 120 years ago a family of the Fitzgeralds lived in an old monument in Lixnaw and they had only one daughter. One day the girl and her father were standing outside in the road and her father said to her, you have everything you want seen. I have said she but one thing.
    What is that said her father I never saw a man hanging, said the daughter. The next man that will come along the road I'll hang him so who came on but a beggar man, they took him and carried him in and hung him off a branch of a tree.
