  1. Pollatarbh is in the western end of the townland of Clashmealcon and the next townland to it is Meenaghane. In olden days landlords had the right to all the wreck that would come in underneath their property.
    Two different landlords held Clashmealcon and Meenaghane and each one of them had a tide waiter to watch all the wreck that would come ashore and that none it would be stolen.
    It happens that there did a large amount of timber came ashore
