  1. The weather is always believed to be foretold by the appearance of the sun, moon, stars, clouds and sky at certain times.
    It is generally believed that if the wind is blowing from the north that we will have snow. It is also said if the wind comes from the south we will have most rain.
    The wind that gives most rain to this district is the southerly wind.
    We are also told that if the birds come inland and fly low we will have rain. We will have a great storm if the seagulls
