    they caught him and brought him to the barracks and when they had him in the barracks they went to a house near by and asked the man of the house to call to the barrack in the morning at six oclock to take him to Galway jail. The man had no clock. During the night he woke up and saw the moon shining in the window so he thought he was late. He got up as quickly as he could dressed the horse and set off. As he was going along it came raining and he stood under a bush until it would be over. Just as he was going over to it he saw two nuns standing at it and he said to them "Why are ye out so late?". They told him that that was the place that God sent them to do their Purgatory and that they were standing under that bush for the last eight years and that he was the first that had the courage to speak to them. Then he asked them how did they die and they told him that when they were alive they were women and that one winter's night they were going from Longford to Kerry in a
