  1. One night people were talking in a house as to why a well was haunted. One said there was a card player there long ago who would not come home until the dead of night, or the early morning. One night his wife told two men to dress in white and give him a fright. They did so and they met the man and asked him would he give up card playing. He said no at first. Then the two men caught him by the legs and put his head under the water for a few minutes. They they took him out again
