- The signs of rain we know are as follows. The mountains look near and the sky gets dark and gloomy. The "church banks" are broken (that is the water over the hidden church).
The cat turns his back to the fire, the soot falls down the chimney, and the cricket sings sharply. The sun goes down very pale, and a rainbow comes in the sky. The tide is very rough(continues on next page)
