- Once there was a man and his wife living in Maulin who had no children and who wished to have a son (even) So the man saw an enchanter who lived on the verge of the ocean and asked him to let him have a son even if it was no bigger than a thumb. When the man came home he found his wife nursing a baby, and in a few minutes it grew the size of a thumb. The name they called him was (Tho) Tom Thomb.
