    certain family in Tullaghaloyst. He used to go to them and stay with them for about a day and a half and the divil out of hell wouldn't get him out. John used to spend half his time with the fairies. If he (J Cripes) got anything to eat or drink he used to make the sign of the cross on it and go out into the fields and give half of it to the fairies. The people of this house had an awful time with him.
