- Ghost stories were very numerous in ancient times but have been scarcely heard of for the past few years.
Near the summit of the Galtee Mountains there is a large lake known as "Lake Diheen". It is said that there is a serpent in this lake which St Patrick cast into it one Easter morning many years ago. This is the only animal of its kind that is in Ireland as St Patrick banished the rest of them. This serpent is said to rise on Easter Sunday Morning every seven years.
