- There were many great mowers in this district but there is no record kept of the work done. The late Michael Bourke of Ardane, Bansha, is said to have been about the best mower of his day. It is said of him that he cut 1 1/2 acres in one day from a man named O'Halloran of Scallagheen near Tipperary. it is not known if he had any challenge.
