    Another game then played was "Cat and Dog". This game was played in the following way. A piece of stick about five inches long was pointed at both ends. This was laid in a sloping position on the ground beside a "spud" or starting point. A long thick stick about two and a half feet was held in the hand of the player. He bent down and gave the small stick a "swipe" on the pointed end with the longer stick. The small stick "flew" away and if caught by the other player the first player was "out". If not caught, the distance between where it landed and the "spud" was measured in "lengths" of the longer stick . The total number of these "lengths" was counted and the person, who had the biggest number after a certain time playing won the game.
    "Duck-down" was another game played. To play this game a large stone was placed on the ground and a smaller stone on top. One player remained inside a ring to watch the "Duck"- the stone on top. The other players went out about five yards and with large
