    Not far from where I live there is a fort or fairy-swing...

    Not far from where I live there is a fort or fairy-ring as some people call it. We can see it from our windows. Fairies were very numerous in it long ago. People passing at night heard them play music and dance. It is very unlucky to remove those fairy rings. My Grandfather had part of it removed as is to be seen and when he went out after his dinner both his horses were dead. He found numerous lot of things in it. One was a very large thing key which was here for some time but is now lost another occasion a man
