- There is a man living around Granard who cures cancer. By putting a plaster on the effected part of it is able to draw it right out.
- A man named Gormley who lives near Killoe in a place called Esker cures a sprain by trying a piece of wool, which the old people called "wisted" around the sprain. The cure is effected by reciting a small prayer.
