- A man named Frank Duggan lived in Clare and he was a famous swimmer. Every week he used to swim from Kilkee to Kerry across the Shannon and he used to swim back again. One day he went out swimming with a crowd and when they got him along way out they held him under the water until he died, and they said that he sank and never came up again.
