  1. Once upon a time there lived a man and he never gave or offered anyone anything to eat. One day a boy betted with his comrade that he would make the man give him a meal. The man used always ask everyone his name that would go into his house. The boy went into the house at dinner time and the man's dinner was on the table. The man asked him his name and he said "Jackie, Ate a bit" and the man said "What a queer name! Jackie Ate a bit". So the boy went over to the table and he began to eat the dinner and the man said "That's my dinner" but the boy said "Didn't you say Jackie Ate a bit".

  2. One day a drunken man was coming home from the Corofin Fair, and he met a Guard who told him to go home as soon as he could or he would summon him. But as soon as he was gone the man turned and went back again to Corofin. On the way he met a priest who said " Ill turn you into an ass" " If you Father Ill kick the devil out of you".
