- The most destructive weeds in a garden are, Groundsel, Charloc, Cat-tail, Chicken-weed, Chumphery, Dock-leaves, Nettles, St. Patrick's cabbage, the lion's paw, Penny-leaves and Dandelion. There is a cure in each of those weeds. Cumphery is used for setting broken bones, it is made into pulp and applied to the fractured or disjointed part. St. Patrick's cabbage is a cure for kidney trouble. The lions paw and the nettles are a cure for purifying the blood, it is boiled in water and strained and then put into bottles it is also a cure for asthma. Couch-grass, Chicken-weed, ferns, thistles and groundsel, the gold-finches feed in it. They are destructive weeds.
