    Local Marriage Customs.
    Long ago people said that if they who wanted to get married should get married about shrove. It is said that it is unlucky to get married on a monday or a friday. It is also said that it is unlucky to get married in the month of may or to be married in green. It is said that people who do not get married between the ages of seventeen and sixty will have to go to Skelligs for old iron. Straw boys used visit the houses.
