There was a man who was always roving about the country and it happened that he came to the foot of Knockfierna. He had heard of a story relating to a hole which was said to be the entrance to a fairy palace and of a man who explored it and was never seen again. Then suddenly he saw a man riding towards him on a white horse. He was friendly with him and they rode on for a distance.
