  1. (continued from previous page)
    Upon his dark grey steed
That sound Adare you heard career
    With just a frantic speed
    Thy husbands ancestors was he
    The Nimrod of his race
E'en in his grave he may not rest
    But still pursues the chase
But trouble not then Lady fair
The pure and good like thee
Pass on unharmed by sinful souls
    From fear and danger free.
Then let us Lady bend the knee
    And let us humbly pray
That God may give him rest and peace
    Beside his kindred clay
The Countess kneeled her lowly down
Close by the old man's side
And prayed for that poor huntsman's soul
    In quiet to abide.
