  1. The Friars of Adare Abbey celebrated Mass in Penal days in Cragan na h-Ola.
    The Friars from Adare used to cross over by Curragh Bridge and on through a part of the low land of Kilknockan and across the river Grenagh into Mr. Maum's low land by the river where they had stepping stones laid down leading on the Creggaun. The stepping stones are still to be seen.
    The had an altar erected in the and used to celebrate Mass there. Where the altar stood can be still seen in the old Churchyard. Cragan na h-Ola means the "Hill of Oil". It was said the Friars sued to use the oil for the Church. Some say the oil sprang from a rock and others said from under a bush and that it
