  2. It is said that there is an underground passage going from the castle at the back of the village of Bruree down to the other two castles.
    An old story says that a man was put into the prison in the old castle, and the only food he got was a bowl of milk each day.
    One day as he was drinking his milk he let some of it spill and was surprised to see it disappear. He looked closely at the ground and saw the splits. He lifted up the flag-stone and escaped through the underground passage.
