  1. During the Penal days a blacksmith lived in Clogher. One evening a strange horseman asked him to put a shoe on his horse. The blacksmith did so. The horseman told him that he and some others were going to attack the Redcoats in Dromin that night.
    The blacksmith asked him to leave some sign as to whether they won or lost. The horseman told him that he would leave a green bush if they won, and a withered bush if they lost.
    Next morning the blacksmith awoke to find a withered bush outside his door.
