  1. One of the strongest and ablest men in the parish is Mr. John Ryan of Lackandarra. He took a spring harrow on his shoulder from his home to Mr. Timothy O'Callaghan's.
    The journey is about half a mile. When Timothy was finished with it he took it home in the card. Mr. Ryan told him that he would never again take such a heavy weight on his shoulder because he hurt it and the doctor was attending him for about three weeks.
