    used as it is now, and some of the old men used to have a small supply of their own and when they would call to the house of a farm-labourer or a house in which they would not expect to get tea they would ask the housekeeper to "boil the kettle" for them, and would then wet their own tea, the housekeeper generally supplying everything else.
