- The names of the local roads are the "Kerry road" and the New Line road". The Kerry road leads directly from Killarney to Cork. This is a very old road and was greatly used before lorries and motors existed. "The New Line" branches off the "Kerry road" and leads to the Boggerah lineThere were roads made in famine times called Board of Work roads. Some of these were made in my district but none of them are used now. One of these leads from the Kerry road through the lands of Mr. D. Lane, Rylane, and those of Mr. M Lane, Kilcullen to the New Line. Hardly any traces of it are still to be seen. There are many paths in this district. The majority of the Mass paths lead from the New Line to the Kilcullen road.
