spied a little thatched cabin - which lay almost unnoticed by the side of a cliff. Being thirsty he ventured in for a drink.
There he saw the beautiful lady - Eva - the wife of O'Sullivan. He quickly informed St. Ledger who brought her a prisoner to the Castle.
The story says that Ledger" fell in love with her and "violated her". She it appears resisted and in a rage he, St. Ledger, stabbed her to death.
Her friends were given permission to take away her dead body.
She was buried by night time in the Abbey - she it seems was the first to be buried there - and Domhall attended the funeral. At the graveside he got the lid of the coffin removed - saw the mark on her breast; swore he would avenge her death and then ere she was buried he made his diparture.
Revente of Domhnall: Some time after this Domhnall gained admittance into the castle at night time disguised as a monk. He was shown into Ledger's Room. St. Ledger, thinking he was speaking to a monk was polite, kind and charitable.
Some say that St. Ledger admitted (The Poem by Callman) that he killed Eva. Anyway as soon as Domhnall heard from that lips of St. Ledger that twas he (Ledger) killed her. He jumped up suddenly and with a dagger revealed said:-
"Tyrant - Behold! My promise - Free
Tis Domhnall Coum himself you see"
