  1. There are 1/2 doz liosanna in the School district. In fact there is a fine lios about 40 yds from the school yard. There are three liosanna in the townland of Maughanaclea, and three in the townland of [Glouneycarrey]. Usually they can be seen from one another and are built in all cases on high ground.
They are round in shape - surrounded by a dry dyke. There is quite a large hold in the centre of the Fort near the school.
Story Re lios. People here say that a Farmer named Michael O Leary (R.I.P.) had a very valuable sheep dog. One day the dog went into the "School Fort" and got lost. Michael O Leary was rather upset about the dog and next day when the dog did not appear he commenced digging the Fort trying to get at him. Soon his cows commenced bellowing and "going mad" and ran up and down the road. The dog at that moment came out. Michael then proceeded to close the hole in a hurry with fear. Just as he commenced to close it the cows 'became calm.'
