  2. One time there lived a family by the name of Mulligan. They lived in Corleck. The people that were in the family were the mother Lizzie Mulligan and the son and daugther. The son got married and the daugher send her mother a present. This Chrismtas she sent the mother a pair of blankets. They were very poor. No matter how cold the winter was the mother would not give the blankets to the son and wife.
    When she was dying she said the blankets were to be wrapped round her. The son said they would want them themselves. The wife said to give them: that she would only be back for them. "We had her long enough".
    The following winter was very cold and they were very poor. The son said one
