    would build my granny a house but for her to tell no one. My granny went outside and the fairy stayed inside and there was a neighbour passing by and she told him about the fairy going to build her a house thinking the fairly would not hear her; but when she came in the fairy asked her why did she tell. Then she rose from the chair and went out and she never came back.

  2. There was a widow woman living in Aughclay. She had three daughters. The oldest one of them - and all the help she had - got a sore foot. It was ceeling(festering) for upwards of three months.
    One day at the end of that time there came a little red woman not more than two foot high into the house and she said to the mother "That girl has a sore foot and it is very sore. I will come again tomorrow and I will bring ointment with me. There is a big darning needle in her foot and
