There was an old man who died in Tonagh. He had no friend alive and the neighbours were very busy working at planting their crops, and could not afford time to lose to bring his remains to the chapel. So four young men resolved to carry his coffin in the night along this glen to the chapel for burial next day.
They didn't carry it far until they felt tired and it being a nice moonlight night and no hurry on them they said they would take a rest. They weren't long sitting until twenty young men with red pointed capes and breeches and green coats stepped forward and asked the young men to let them give a hand. They being tired, said they would, with the greatest of pleasure. So two of them lifted the coffin and carried it about thirty perches.
