    they own the fair ground.
    When an animal is sold there is always luck-money given with it. The money that is given is called the luck-penny. The luck - money that is given is about 1/= or 2/=. When a bargain has been made the parties conclude their agreement by striking hands.
    When an animal is sold it is marked with a scissors or with red mine. When an animal is sold the halter or rope is as a rule given away.
    Fairs were never held more than one a year in this district. In Tralee long ago they were only held once a quarter.
