- Long ago there lived three men named Hudden, and Dudden,and Daniel O'Leary.Hudden and Dudden were very rich and had a big farm, but Daniel was very poor.Hudden and Dudden made up their minds to drown Daniel,and one day they got a bag and put him into it, and tied the top of the bag, and put the bag near the brink of the river. They returned home because they forgot something. While they were at home a herdsman passed the way, he heard Daniel roaring "I am going to heaven in a bag." The herdsman said "Will you let me in there in the bag with you? and I will give you two hundred pounds? Daniel said I will.Daniel left the little man into the bag, and the little man gave him the two hundred pound's. Daniel said that when he would say three he would hop up to heaven in a bag.About a week later there was a fair in Tralee and the three men were present.(continues on next page)
