- Old Story
Long ago people wrote down their sins, and so there was this priest, and he put somebodys sins into a book, and forgot all about them. The priest fell ill and died, and the house where he was living in the police took it up as a barracks.
One night at twelve o'clock, the priest came in, and went up the stairs, and the police thought that thing in the house was upside down, and the next night he came again. The next night the police blocked the doors and he came in.
Next day the police, told the superintendent, and he would not believe them. The next night he stayed up and watched the two other police. He came in, and they followed him up to the middle room, and he said to them "Open that press" The police did so, and then he said, "take out that book, and burn the leaf that is in it." When it was burned, he disappeared, and was never seen or heard of anymore.- Collector
