    Pat Lang was known everywhere for making baskets, creels and arm-chairs. Every day he used to go to a stream and pick sallies. In older times when there were no creameries the people used to have to bring their butter to big towns to sell it, and for this reason firkins were largely needed. John Gethin was known for making them. A man named Jim Higgins who lived in Culthalough used to weave cloth. Pat Rock who lived in Carrowreagh used to make baskets and creels.
    James Nangle who lived in Drumrain was known for making baskets and creels also.
