  1. In the year 1920, when the "Black an Tans" were in Ireland, they burned nearly all the Halls in it except a few. They did this because they were afraid that "meetings" would be held in them and also because they belonged mostly to the "Sinn Feiners".
    Long ago in the year 1912 a man named Pat Collery who lived near Ballyrush went to the River Arrow and jumping in drowned himself. A few days later, his clothes were found on the river bank, but it was never known for certain why he did such a deed.
