  1. The houses were built of mud and stones were put around the doors and windows to keep them firm. They would go to the wood and get timber for the Couples and they got light timber for "thiveans" and nail them on to the couples. They used get scraws and put them down on the timber before they used put on the roof. The roof was made of thatch. They used to put rows of sugáns across the thatch and tie the sugans to the stones on the "boondelawn". They used to do that every year. There used to be a small little window in the front of the house and a door and a half door inside the big one that was used to keep the cattle in. The floor around the fire was made of mud and in the bottom of the house the floor was paved with stones before the cattle would fall.
