    One evening as the golden sun was setting in the west.
    I stood upon a mossy bank
    Where the wild birds build their nests
    And gazed out on each shining beam
    That shone out in the tide.
    It was a picture of beauty by the lovely Shannon Side

    I walked along the cliffs
    Till I came to a level plain
    Where in days of old as I am told
    They played a hurling game.
    There stands the ruins of Castle Browne
