- (continued from previous page)The wild hare and rabbit that do inhabit.
Each hill and valley both near and far.
In this Irish nation there is not station.
With beauty equal to sweet Glencar.
IV
It is well adorned too with waters
From the old castle to the sunny lake.
Where the trout and Salmon are always sporting
They seem contented while the truth I spake
Where gentlemen of high rank and station
In each persuasion bother near and far
With their line and hook to fish the brook
In the silvery water of sweet Glencar.
V
Where men and maidens they are sernading
In conversation as they do roam.
They pull the Tulip and wild Carnation.
That do adorn every silent grove
Where the lark and linnet are sweetly singing
And thrushes warble on each brae.
Out little songsters their notes are charming
And the gentle blackbird on every tree
Were you a ranger you'd be free from danger
Or were you a rambler from Castlebar
You would be well treated with good poteen whiskey
And Cead Mile Failte in sweet Glencar.- Collector
