About 70 years ago, there were people living in Derrenloughin whose names were Meehans. There was a protestant woman living beside them and she had the butter off their milk for a year. When the Meehans would churn there would be no butter on the milk and when the old woman would churn she would have the half full of the churn of butter. Then one of the Meehans told the priest and he came and got water and threw water and salt into the churn but still there was no butter on the milk when they churned. Then the priest wrote a prayer and nailed it to the bottom of the churn. It was no good they couldn't get the butter back. The priest had to send word to the old woman to give back the butter and then they got it back.
