    next morning came and the master ordered them to go to the wood to see which of them would be able to bring home the biggest load of sticks on his back Pádhraig and the three men went to the wood and the three men began to gather their sticks but Pádhraig began to gather gads and he had a gad on every tree in the wood.
    In the evening the men asked him what he was going to do. Pádhraig said that he was going bring the whole wood with him to the master. They said "No, till we the master and he should not mind it. The other men came home with sticks and Pádhraig came home with his two hands in his pockets. The next morning came and the master said that he would give him a harder job to do now. There were two small ponds on the land and he said that if he would not have the two ponds into one on the next day he would cut his head off. He went out in
