    Half the children would go to one
    side and the other half would go
    to the other side, and one side would say,"Who will come gathering nuts in May on a cold in cold and frosty morning? The other side would say,"We will come gathering nuts in May on a cold and frosty morning." The other side would say again,"Who will ye have for nuts in May." One side would pick out a girl from their own side and the other side would pick a girl from their own side and the two girls (will star?) would go pulling. What ever girl would be able to pull
    the other would win.

  2. A Fairy in the Garden.
    A girl sits down as if she was a
    grandmother and another girl sits
    down as if she was a fairy. The
    children would come to the grand-
    mother and say, "There is a fairy
    in the garden," Then the grandmother
    would say, "Go and try again," The
