(continued from previous page)a rock in the middle of the field, and when he came near this rock he saw the fairies having a party. When they saw the man, they told him to come in, and have tea with them. They asked him what he was looking for, and they told him where the cow was. The man went away for the cow never saying a word, but when he went to milk the cows, she had none. He was thinking that it was the fairies that took the milk from the cow. Then he began to think what did he do on them. He thought that he did not thank them for the tea, so he went back the next night, and thanked them, and that night the cow had twice as much milk, as she had before .
