Long ago tinkers used to come to this district now and again. The same people used to come nearly always.

Long ago tinkers used to come to this district now and again. The same people used to come nearly always. The Casey's Joyce's and the Moughan's were the principal families that used to come.
Those families used to make tin saucepans and sell them to the people of the district. The people of the district used not have any welcome for them.
They used to build little tents and sleep in those tents at night. They used to get food from the people of the district. They used to go about in donkey carts.
Some of the people of the district used to gather into their tents at night listening to their stories.
