    Soap was one of the common things made here long ago. Candle making was also very common.
    Candle-making
    The candles were made from boiled fat. The people dipped a string into the fat, and then they let it get frozen. They dipped it again and kept doing that until the candle was white.
    Soap-making
    Soap was made in something the same way. Its colour was blue and white, and it was sold at threepence a pound.
